Hello, I’m Liz Farrell, DNP, PMHNP-BC, RN.

I’m a doctor of nursing practice and a psychiatric mental-health nurse practitioner who loves working with individuals to set positive goals and to improve well-being and quality of life.

I work with clients ages 18 to 65 in the Portland Metro region and I am licensed to practice in the state of Oregon. I have 14 years of experience working in mental health in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I currently work part-time in community mental health specializing in the treatment of clients with severe and persistent mental illness. In my private practice, I welcome anyone who is searching to improve their quality of life and circumstances.

I received my undergraduate degree in nursing from the Linfield-Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Portland. Later, I received my Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Washington State University. I am licensed in the State of Oregon as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner as well as being board credentialed nationally by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. I also hold a BA in Classics from U.C. Berkeley from a life prior to nursing. When I’m not working with clients, I enjoy cooking for friends and family, reading, gardening and spending time in nature.

About my practice

If you are seeking a psychiatric provider to help with issues of anxiety, panic, depression, mood dysregulation, psychosis, ADHD, OCD, or sleep problems, I provide psychiatric medication management with solution-based counseling. If you are seeking to change your circumstances, I’d like to help.

  • We are all too often our own worst critics. Hopefully through our work together, you can adopt an attitude of greater self-compassion.

  • Let’s discuss the concerns that are bringing you to treatment.

  • I enjoy collaborating with clients to identify personalized goals of treatment.

  • I provide an empathetic, humorous and pragmatic approach to the therapeutic process.

  • I will be providing telepsychiatry appointments through a HIPAA-secure platform until circumstances related to COVID-19 become more certain.
